My name is Ursula (aka Spider & now aka The BROAD). I'm a mother, a grand mother, a friend, an organizer of bikers, and well... of course, I'm a BIKER. I left Illinois on February 25, 2013 in 34* temperatures for my solo female motorcycle tour of the USA. My blog and website will serve as places where you can follow along on this nomad journey while I live off my Harley. Most of my journey will be spent camping where ever I can find a piece of God's country and the rest I will be able to visit friends throughout the US for some couch surfing. So please, check out the blog below and click LETS ROLL to get detailed stories from the road, provide encouragement, and share the journey.
Unfortunately, on July 17, 2013 while on my journey to Sturgis, I was hit head-on by a car trying to pass a semi truck. Needless to say, My Girl died that day and though I flat-lined for a few moments, I am still here. Today I am missing part of my left leg and considering they didn't think I'd make it; I'll take what I am missing.
That being said, Welcome and Thanks for stopping by. You'll find that The B.R.O.A.D. website here is an extension of the journey blog and my Facebook page. I welcome your suggestions regarding the website and hope you enjoy your visit. Updates are always coming so check back often.
You can also help The B.R.O.A.D. recovery by clicking here and by visiting the items for SALE by my various sponsors on this page...
Rider's Claw has been a loyal supporter and sponsor of The B.R.O.A.D. journey way back before the rubber hit the roads of this country. How Does The BROAD Finance this Dream?
The BROAD is not independently wealthy, so in order to support myself and my journey, I work as a Virtual Assistant (in addition to receiving commission on certain sales from my sponsors). I specialize in small to medium business administration, along with QuickBooks support, website creation and management, social media marketing, ghostwriting, DropBox filing, and much more. I am also a GoDaddy products reseller, so if you need economical online solutions for your business, I can be your one and only stop. If you need an assistant but not the overhead of an employee, let's talk...
Please check out The B.R.O.A.D. journey blog to see all the fun, the crash, the recovery, my poetry, and much more. I look forward to hearing from you and please click LETS ROLL to sign-up for e-mail alerts when new info is posted.
Ursula's Local Riding Buddies - aka - U.L.R.B.(TM)
Check out the riding group I created in 2011. It has grown from about
30-40 bikers to over 1,100. We enjoy great times on
charitable rides and rides we create among ourselves. We support local
motorcycle benefits, share information on all things related to
motorcycling, and maybe partake in some shenanigans from time to time -
hehehe. "LOCAL" is relative in my world... if you're in my world, you're
